ABOUT SERAFINO

Serafino grew up in the cold waters of California and the warm Mediterranean sea. He was exposed from an early age to the diverse life and vast wonders of the ocean. As a boy, he would spend an entire day snorkeling and free diving to explore the various creatures living in the nooks and crevices of the underwater world. Quickly developing a nack for it, making his parents uncomfortable at the depths he explored. This love for the water matured along with him and he became a certified SCUBA diver at the age of 15. Thirteen years later he became a SCUBA instructor.

 

Serafino now has a wide breadth of knowledge and training on all things diving. Holding certifications in freediving and advanced technical diving, including mixed gases, rebreathers, overhead environments and more. His desire to learn is unceasing while his experience and knowledge continue to grow.  

 

His other love for photography emerged after spending many years assisting his father who was a professional photographer. Under his father's tutelage, he learned the skills of the trade. His passion for photography grew during his teen years filming and shooting Parkour practitioners. Always with a camera in hand, Serafino has honed his ability to capture incredible moments above and below water.

 

Many years later he has combined these two passions into an ability to share the immense beauty of the underwater world for all to see. His style relies on the classic photography process with minimal post-processing that can interfere with showing the ocean life as is. His style is meticulous, unique, and refined to create a true emotional connection between the viewer and the world presented to them.
